Who Is Kurt Russell’s Dad?

As we all know, a good father can be a great help when his son or daughter is trying to break into a tough field of work, such as acting! In fact, Kurt Russell’s father was instrumental in getting Kurt started in the world of acting. Who is Kurt Russell’s dad? He was Bing Russell, who appeared on many shows, such as Bonanza. He ended up getting his son, Kurt, a recurring role on Sugarfoot (an old TV western series) when Kurt was just six years old.

From there, Kurt’s career took off. He did film work with Elvis Presley, had the lead role in his own television show, and has starred in many movies, such as Escape From New York, Tombstone, and Miracle. His Elvis connection continued, as Kurt Russell won an Emmy for his performance as the legendary singer in a 1979 television movie.

There’s no question whatsoever that Kurt Russell is a very talented man and a gifted actor. However, it’s also true that without the guidance and help of his father, he likely wouldn’t be where he is today! There are many talented men and women out there; often, it is those that get that extra push, or a little bit of added help, that succeed in the end!
