In fact, Kurt Russell’s father was instrumental in getting Kurt started in the world of acting. Who is Kurt Russell’s dad? He was Bing Russell, who appeared on many shows, such as Bonanza. He ended up getting his son, Kurt, a recurring role on Sugarfoot (an old TV western series) when Kurt was just six years old.

From there, Kurt’s career took off. He did film work with Elvis Presley, had the lead role in his own television show, and has starred in many movies, such as Escape From New York, Tombstone, and Miracle. His Elvis connection continued, as Kurt Russell won an Emmy for his performance as the legendary singer in a 1979 television movie.
