Who Is Mario Lopez’s Father?

As Mario Lopez has been a successful actor in the world of television for almost twenty years now, there has been a lot of speculation about him as a result. One of the things people always seem to want to know is, who is Mario Lopez’s father? The reason this is often a big question is that many mistakenly believe that comedian George Lopez is Mario’s dad. Not so! Mario’s dad is Mario Lopez, Sr., who himself was never involved in show business. Mario’s mother is Elvira Lopez. Mario and Elvira raised Mario Jr., as well as Emilio and Marissa Lopez. Marissa Lopez went on to marry an NFL linebacker, and of course, Mario Jr. went on to great success in the world of television.

Besides his famous role in “Saved By the Bell”, Mario also famously played the role of Greg Louganis in a TV movie. He also had a lengthy daytime stint as Dr. Christian Ramirez in “The Bold and the Beautiful” in 2006. Recently, he even had a guest appearance on George Lopez’s show! There’s no doubt that when they were on the set, Mario and George joked a bit about the false rumors of George being Mario’s father!
